Colin Harrington

Colin Harrington, a 2009 graduate of Bishop McCort High School and class valedictorian, begins his second season as an assistant varsity coach at his alma mater.

Colin graduated from the University of Virginia in 2013 with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry. Harrington was a two-year starter and three-year letter winner for the Cavaliers baseball team. In 2011, Harrington started as the designated hitter against South Carolina in the College World Series recording two hits. In 2012, he was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team and finished the season with a .305 batting average, 20th in the Atlantic Coast Conference. He also finished second in the ACC and 18th nationally with 18 sacrifice bunts that year.

Colin was a four-year letter winner on the Crusher baseball team from 2006-2009. He helped lead the Crushers to a District 6 championship in 2009 and was named to the Laurel Highlands All Conference Team in 2007 and 2009. Harrington also played for Martella’s Pharmacy (2008-2009) under manager Chris Pfeil in the Johnstown AAABA League. Colin is currently employed by Windber Research Institute. He plans on applying to medical school this summer for entrance in the fall of 2015.
