Bishop McCort Catholic High School Athletics

Coach Santoro begins his 31st season. He joined the varsity football staff in 2003 after serving for seven years as assistant freshman football coach under Coach Bill Kory. 
 
Santoro grew up in South Plainfield, NJ and graduated from Lebanon Valley College, Annville, PA, in 1979 where he lettered in football and wrestled. He earned a Master’s degree from The College of William and Mary in 1981 and in 1988 received a PhD in Sociology from the University of New Hampshire. 
 
Coach Santoro began his career as an educator at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 1989 and won the UPJ President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1999. He retired from UPJ in 2024 and is Associate Professor Emeritus. That same year, he joined the faculty of Bishop McCort Catholic High School. 
 
Dan and his wife Andrea live in Westmont. Dan is stepfather to Andrea’s children Allison and Daniel. Allison and husband Shane live in Pittsburgh. Daniel and Riley also live in Pittsburgh along with Dan and Andrea’s granddaughters, Vivian and Rosie.
