Bishop McCort came up just short against Richland on homecoming night 2015. The Crushers and Rams traded big play after big play in a wild fourth quarter, but Richland ultimately prevailed by a score of 30-27. Bishop McCort dropped to 1-4 on the season, while Richland improved to 2-3.

Bishop McCort and Richland traded possessions with a turnover and penalty plagued first quarter before the Rams took the lead at the 3:46 mark on a Dan Verhovsek four yard touchdown run. Richland led 6-0 after one, but started the second frame in the midst of a big drive. Richland eventually added three on a Logan Bowser field goal to take a 9-0 lead.

The Crushers finally found a groove on their fifth possession of the game as Anthony Walters found pay dirt on a 1 yard touchdown to bring McCort within two at 9-7. Richland wasted little time on the following drive, with Jonny Kutchman scoring from three yards out to raise Richland's lead to 16-7. Carnell Andrews gave the McCort offense a short field on a 35 yard return to Richland territory on the ensuing kick attempt. Levi Cook hit Michael Stem in stride for a 45 yard touchdown pass to bring the score to 16-13 at the half.

Richland opened the second half with a 19 play 9:08 drive, but could not muster a point. The McCort offense took over on downs and eventually Levi Cook dashed through the Richland defense from 30 yards out to give Bishop McCort their first lead of the game at 20-16.  The lead was short-lived though, as Jonny Kutchman returned Shane Steele's kick 83 yards to give the edge right back to the visiting Rams 23-20. After a McCort turnover on downs, Kutchman found the end zone for the third time of the night to put Richland up 30-27.

Facing a two score deficit, the Crushers mounted a quick score.  Levi Cook tossed a screen to Carnell Andrews, who took the pass one-handed and turned it into a 64 yard touchdown to give McCort new life and bring the score to 30-27.  The Crushers could not come up with a big stop on a crucial third down late in the game, and the Rams held on for the victory.
