The Last Time:
Bishop McCort jumped out to an early lead and held on during a tightly contested game to defeat Westmont Hilltop 26-14 at Westmont's Price Field on Saturday, September 20, 2014.

The Crushers began the scoring late in the opening quarter when quarterback Levi Cook found senior wideout Corey Hall for a 34-yard scoring strike. A missed extra point left McCort with a 6-0 lead.

On the ensuing possession, the Hilltoppers fumbled, and senior Marc Smith scooped up the loose ball and returned it 23 yards for another Crusher touchdown to increase the lead to 12- 0 at the end of the first quarter.

Westmont was able to close the gap with an impressive 99-yard drive midway through the second quarter that ended with an Evan Dluhos 24-yard touchdown run. The Crushers ran out of time inside the Hilltopper 5-yardline as the first half ended with a 12-7 McCort lead.

The Crusher offense began the second half with a methodical 13-play 80 yard drive that ended with freshman Carnell Andrews' 1-yard touchdown run. The extra point set the score at 19 -7.

The Hilltoppers made one last comeback attempt as Chase Davis scored from a yard out to make it 19-14. After forcing a Crusher punt with just over three minutes left in the game, Westmont took over inside their own 10-yardline.

But McCort's defense came up big forcing a fumble on the Hilltoppers' first play, and Cook sealed the win with a 9-yard touchdown run on the next play to give the Crushers the 26-14 win.

With Smith, the team's leading rusher, limited by a knee injury, Cook led the Crusher attack on the day. He threw for 203 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 69 yards and another score. Hall led the receivers with 8 catches for 167 yards and a touchdown.

For the game, McCort gained 360 yards of total offense, out-gaining the Hilltoppers by almost 100 yards.

Week 3 Recap:
Bishop McCort raced out to an early lead on Friday night, but could not keep up with Johnstown for four quarters, as the Trojans handed the Crushers their second loss of the season by a score of 38-14. Johnstown racked up 480 yards of offense and scored the game's final 26 points to put away the Crushers in the second half.

The Crushers started fast thanks in large part to a Johnstown fumble at the 15 yard line after a McCort punt. Two plays later, junior quarterback Levi Cook found sophomore running back Anthony Walters for a 9 yard touchdown pass. Shane Steele added the extra point to give McCort an early 7-0 lead.

The Trojans responded quickly with a 7 play drive that covered 67 yards as Terrell Jones scampered in for a touchdown, but the two-point conversion failed with the Crushers maintaining a 7-6 lead. McCort again found quick success on offense, but after a long passing play, Johnstown recovered a fumble at their own three yard line. The Trojans proceeded to go 97 yards in 9 plays to take a 12-7 lead on a Jeremy Updyke pass to Justin Rowe.

The Crushers then put together a lengthy 14 play 68 yard drive that took 6:51 off the game clock. Anthony Walters plowed into the end zone from two yards out to give McCort the 14-12 lead, the last lead the Crushers would have in the game. Johnstown added a score on a Jeremy Updyke to Exree Loe touchdown pass just before the half to put them up 18-14.

The third quarter proved to be a tough one for the Crushers, as they were held out of the end zone. Johnstown possessed the ball for over 8 minutes and got the only points of the period on a Terrell Jones touchdown. The Trojans added two late scores in the final frame to set the final at 38-14.

Bishop McCort's offense was again led by Levi Cook, who threw for 162 yards and a touchdown. Anthony Walters scored both McCort's touchdowns, while leading the team in rushing yards with 61 yards.  McCort will return home Friday night to take on Westmont.
