Bishop McCort and Johnstown faced off in front of packed Point Stadium last week. The Trojans won a back and forth game by a score of 34-20. The setback dropped the Crushers to 6-2 on the season, while Johnstown improved to 8-0.
McCort won the toss and elected to receive the opening kickoff, and they wasted little time going on the offensive against the Trojans. The Crushers executed a 13 play 63 yard drive to open the game with
Anthony Walters plunging into the end zone from three yards out to give McCort a quick 6-0 lead.
Johnstown answered quickly however. The Trojans used a big passing 52 yard play from Austin Barber to Exree Loe to put them deep in McCort territory. Two plays later Barber found Tavis Price for a 13 yard score as the Trojans claimed the lead at 7-6.
After a McCort punt, Johnstown again went to work on offense. They used a 10 play 58 yard drive to tack on another score, as Austin Barber scampered in from 3 yards away to increase the Johnstown lead to 14-6. After the fast start for both teams, it quieted down for the remainder of the half as the 14-6 score held at intermission,
The quick strike offense for Johnstown was in full effect to open the second half. Austin Barber found Rashaud Jordan for a 45 yard touchdown, which made the score 20-6 Trojans. Facing a two score deficit, the Crushers went into the bag of tricks.
Levi Cook found
Chris Miller across the middle for a 15 yard reception and Miller quickly lateraled it to
Imil Britt, who went the remaining 57 yards himself to cut into the lead at 20-13.
Johnstown once again had an answer for McCort. The Trojans put together a 10 play 83 yard drive capped off by Austin Barber's second rushing touchdown of the game. The score read 27-13 in favor of Johnstown.
On the final play of the third quarter, the Crushers struck for a big play as

Anthony Walters for a 32 yard connection. Walters finished the drive off to start the fourth quarter with a four yard touchdown run to bring the Crushers to within 27-20. McCort did not get any closer, though. Johnstown used a big 12 play drive that ended with a Bryce Gibson touchdown to make it 34-20, which ended up being the final score.

Anthony Walters. He finished the game with 116 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns and one reception for 32 yards. The defense was paced by junior linebacker,
Ridge Phillips, as he posted 9.5 tackles.
