Laura is entering her eigth season as the Head Bishop McCort Girl’s Volleyball Coach. In 2014, she led the Crusher Volleyball Team to its first District VI Championship appearance since 1988. Coach Swank is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where she was a four-year letter winner on the Lady Mountain Cats women’s volleyball team. Prior to joining the Lady Crushers volleyball team, Laura served as an assistant coach at North Star High School, where she helped guide the Lady Cougars to a District V championship.
Laura is currently employed at Cathedral Catholic Academy as a 4th grade teacher. Laura and her husband Mike reside in Boswell with their six children. Their daughter, Larissa, graduated from McCort in 2012 and helped the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team capture the PSAC title in 2013. Their daughter, Emily, graduated from McCort in 2014.
